6 years!

This past weekend Jesse and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary!  It's also special because its our 5 year anniversary of when we got our furry love child Pup Face.  Have you heard the story of how we got her?  WELL, wait no longer!  Your dreams are coming into fruition!

For our one year anniversary Jesse told me that we were going to get engagement style photos taken of us since he was deployed for pretty much the entire time we were engaged.  We drove up to the a very remote part of the North Shore on Oahu and pulled up to this crazy shack that was owned by hoarders.  I thought "he is CRAZY and there is NO WAY I am going into that house, let along taking pictures amongst their hoarded goods!"  That's when I heard all the Pomeranian puppies barking and realized the past year of begging Jesse for a puppy had worked!  Turns out the puppies were being held in a shed outdoors, and this puppy purchase turned into a rescue mission.  Pup Face was about the size of a hamster at this point and adorable.  She was the only orange puppy in the litter, and I knew she was the one when I saw her  cute little foxy face.  Now 5 years later, my sidekick puppy is sitting in my lap, still super cute and foxed face, cuddling up with her soon to be baby brother (who is taking up most of the lap space).

This year for our anniversary we went BIG.  And by big I mean totally what you would expect us to do and SO fun!  We went to the exotic/delicious Chipotle and then out to see "Bridesmaids".  The movie is HILARIOUS by the way and I highly recommend it.  The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out on the beach where I have now achieved the title of tannest pregnant lady EVER.  In fact, at my Doctor's appointment today there were little questions about how the baby and I were doing, but how I got so tan.  Speaking of the little one, everything went perfectly well at the appointment.  His heartbeat was excellent, my blood pressure is great, and I have put on another 1/2 a pound.  Only 9 weeks left!

This weekend Jesse get's his first 4 day weekend off in a year and we are heading to Washington D.C. to meet up with our good friends: The Deerr family Frank, Jennifer, their new baby Violet, and John Kim.  As always, our trusty guard dog Pup Face will be with us :)

Happy Memorial Day!!

THANK YOU!

It's time for a little shout out for the baby gifts we have received!  We spent several hours this Mother's Day getting it all assembled.
Big thanks to:

  • Tammy and Brian Dyck (Jesse's parents) for the super duper high tech baby monitor!  James Bond would be jealous of all the things this camera can do!  Right now we are using it to spy on Pup Face.
  • Sabrina and David Collins (Cat's sister-in-law and Brother) for the baby clothes, Hot Sling, Froggy bath toy holder, Co-sleeper, baby bath wash, and baby detergent.  Baby W is already spoiled by his Aunt and Uncle!
  • Brigitte and David Collins (Cat's Mom and Dad) for the Graco Pack and Play, educational baby toys, and baby clothes.  Right now his toys are resting in the baby's Pack and Play waiting for the him to join them!
  • Joe and Carole (Jesse's Parents) for the super duper deluxe Mercedes of strollers: The Graco Key Fit travel system.  It's a car seat and stroller in one that is going to have the little man riding in style.  Also, thanks for Baby W's clothes and stuffed animal bear that makes heart beat noises--I know he will love them!
  • Ted ( Friend) for the special Korean ceremony outfit called a Hanbok for the baby to wear on his first birthday.  He will wear it while doing a Korean tradition of picking an object from a table full of special items to decide his life's fate-- VERY cool!
  • Jerry and Jo Wilson (Jesse's grandparents) for the CUTE baby clothes, socks, and super soft baby blanket.  We loved everything you sent! Thank you!
  • Hal and Jeanne Collins (Cat's Granny and Gramps) for the monkey Boppy, the baby playmat, and the Belly Bandit (a gift for me--well, my midsection...)  Thank you so much for the gifts!
  • Jenna Osborne and Candy Collins (Cat's cousin, and Aunt) Thank you for the baby clothes!  They are still in Georgia because our cars were FULL moving up here, but Baby Wilson will be able to wear them soon!
  • Taffy Nichols (Jesse's sister) for the Shutterfly gift card!  I cannot wait to make the cute baby announcements! Also, thanks for all your advice and tips along the way.
  • Ashley and Adam Nau (Friends)--Thank you for the baby blankets!  As you know, Pup Face got the pink one, but I know the baby will enjoy his blue blanket just as much as Pup Face loves hers!
  • And last but not least, my WONDERFUL husband Jesse for assembling all the baby gear this past weekend and who will eventually buy everything else on the list :)  You are without a doubt the best husband and I am so excited to begin this fun-filled adventure in parenthood with you.  I love you!

It appears Twilight fans are now having babies!
The Social Security Administration, which tracks baby names in the U.S., announced the top baby names of 2010 exclusively on TODAY. The most popular names for girls are:
1. Isabella
2. Sophia
3. Emma
4. Olivia
5. Ava
6. Emily
7. Abigail
8. Madison
9. Chloe
10. Mia

And the top boys' names are:
1. Jacob
2. Ethan
3. Michael
4. Jayden
5. William
6. Alexander
7. Noah
8. Daniel
9. Aiden
10. Anthony
I have to admit the die hard Sex and The City fan in me was HIGHLY considering Aiden, but it was vetoed by Jesse.  YES, we have veto power over names that are just not allowed.  I had to veto Leonidas (Have you seen 300?) early on before Jesse started to plan at what age he was going to release our young Spartan into the woods to hunt and fend for himself.  We are going to see "Thor" this Friday and I am already predicting another veto coming on...

What's in a name?

We finally have it narrowed down to three!  Feel free to vote on the blog (bottom right) as to which name is your favorite.  We have gone through a systematic way of trying to decide on the final one, but still have not come to a conclusion.  One night when the baby was very active and kicking around we put our on hands on my stomach, and said the names to see which name he would "choose" by kicking or punching to his favorite.  Turns out he didn't feel like answering (or does not like any of our choices!)  Then, we came up with the brilliant idea of letting our dog Pup Face choose.  Jesse and I wrote the names on pieces of paper, shuffled them, and then placed them face down so we did not know the order.  Then we placed a piece of tuna ( Pup Face's favorite!) on each sheet of paper.  Don't worry--we filmed this.  As soon as we let her go, she ran over and chose "Ryder".  We repeated the same process again to make sure, and this time she chose "Jax".  It seems Pup Face can't decide either!
It has been hard naming a little person that we haven't seen or met but we only have a few months left to decide...Let us know which name you like and vote!
